Position: Junior safety officer X1

Location: Khai-Ma Municipality, Northern Cape

Contact Type and Duration: Limited duration contract – Project Construction (up to 6 months), Part Time

Job Description and Requirements: 

• Grade 12
• National diploma or equivalent
• Valid competency certificates (SAMTRAC)
• First aid L1 & fire fighter L1
• Registration as a Health and Safety Officer.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Applications.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Mining industry
• Assist with Administrative duties
• Identify and assess hazards, risks and control measures for a specific operation or process.
• Assess and document hazards, risks and controls in a manner consistent with established procedures and practices.
• Ensure that all company employees meet all MHSA requirements.
• Provide MHSA training if necessary.
• Ensure that health, safety, and environmental policies are followed.
• Investigate workplace accidents and injuries and refer them to the proper authorities.
